Glogster is an awesome tool for multimedia. Students can write text and add cool graphics, but more importantly, they can embed podcasts and videos (self-created or downloaded). Pretty much everyone knows that. The hard part is once these posters are created, what is a useful way to showcase all that hard work?

Symbaloo!!

Here is a sample from 5th grade's Coming to America Glogster project:

I have used Symbaloo as a research pathfinder, but it never occured to me that Glogs could be centralized here and viewed by peers.

For my step-by-step friends, here is a list of the directions from this tutorial:

Before starting, make sure you have registered as a user for Symbaloo.
Have two tabs open - one with Glogster and the other with Symbaloo

  1. LOGIN TO GLOGSTER AND SYMBALOO
  2. OPEN THE GLOGSTER THAT YOU WANT TO EMBED INTO SYMBALOO
  3. COPY THE URL OF THE GLOG AND SWITCH OVER TO SYMBALOO
  4. CREATE A NEW TILE IN YOUR WEBMIX
  5. PASTE THE URL INTO THE TILE AREA
  6. YOU CAN CHANGE THE NAME OF YOUR TILE WHILE YOU ARE IN THERE, THE TILE COLOR AND CHANGE THE IMAGE
  7. CLICK ADD TILE TO WEBMIX
  8. DRAG TILE DOWN INTO WEBMIX.
